February... already?  Where does the time go???

Have  you been able to keep those resolutions for 2012 so far.  It's not easy, but one thing to remember is to make sure you haven't made things too tough.  Be kind to yourself, be patient and do the best you can to get on the path of good health and happiness. 

One great way to make sure you get your body going in the right direction is Yoga.  I'm not just saying that because I am a yoga instructor.  I am saying it because it is true.  Move gently in to your fitness program.  Remember the gentle stretching in yoga, along with the breathing and meditation techniques all help to make your more vigorous exercise more effective. 

Be kind to yourself...be good to your body...and it will be good to you for a long long time.

I also encourage you to keep a journal of gratitude.  Get a special notebook, or start one on your computer.  Daily remind yourself of the things in your life that make you happy.  The people who have gotten you through your life, the things that make you smile.  The simple joys and the beauty that surrounds you every minute of every day.

Times can be tough for all of us.  I have my days when I really don't want to do anything too.  But then I look around me.  I am truly belssed with an amazing husband, an incredible daughter who, when she married her love gave me the son I never had.  I have the sweetest puppy that makes me laugh all of the time.  I have a roof over my head, a warm bed to sleep in, a frig full of healthy food.  I have wonderful family and  friends...old and new....and every day, I get to get up and do what I love..Yoga.  Either as a teacher or as a student...I have the gift of yoga in my life.   Not just the physical practice of Yoga, but the truest meaning of what Yoga really is...a union of everything in my life.  Physical, mental, spiritual, I love doing and living my Yoga.
