MUDRAS
Gyan Mudra is a classic Meditation Pose. Palms facing the sky with your thumb and first finger together. Can be done with both hads for meditation, or just your left hand if doing other mudras with your right. Gyan Mudra is bood for concentration, uncluttering the mind and leaving it open for insight, wisdom and inner awareness. Purn Gyan Mudra is done with your right hand on your chest with your three extended fingers resting across your heart. This helps open, calm and clear the mind, cleanse your aura and helps calm tension.
Apan-Vayu Mudra (or Vayu-Apan Mudra) - Used if you are faced with heart disease and palpitations of the heart. Using your right hand, hold the index finger to the base of the thumb, then touch the tip of the thumb to the tip of your middle and ring finger.
Apan Mudra - Touch the tips of your middle two fingers to the tip of your thumb. This Mudra is good for energy and confidence. It helps rid the body of toxins both environmental and those we put into our bodies. Helps get rid of negative feelings and negative attitudes.
Lotus Mudra-Begin with palms together, then ope the middle fingers out leaving the heals of your hands, the tips of your pinkie fingers, and the tips of your thumbs touching. The Lotus Mudra helps in times of lonliness, despair and depression. It is a symbol of purity and reminds us that just as the Lotus Flower blooms beautifully while basically living in muck...we too can come alive, shine and be happy in even the darkest of situations.
Mushti Mudra (Fist) - Bend your fingers inward and place your thumb over your ring finger. Do this with both hands. This mudra activates your liver and stomach energy helping to promote digestion and cure constipation.
Vajrapradama Mudra-Mudra of unshakable trust. In times of self doubt this mudra will help you trust your inner strength, your intiution, and give you the strength to follow your heart. Interweave your fingers and rest your hands in front of your heart. Be still and breathe.
